Gulls Way, situated on a residential plot adjacent to Sheep Pond in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, is a thoughtfully designed 17,000-square-foot landscape project focused on native species and locally sourced hardscape materials. The design creates a series of distinct outdoor experiences, including a “Valley Pass” that guides visitors through native shrubs and flowers toward the pond, a cozy fire pit area with a hammock, and a treehouse nestled in a three-pronged white oak. Additional features include a “Meadow” bioswale of native groundcover that manages runoff from a permeable paved driveway and a secluded “Secret Garden” filled with textured ferns, grasses, and ornamental plants.
Currently in progress, this landscape embraces seasonal change with carefully planned perennial blooms that provide an evolving natural tapestry throughout the year. The project celebrates sustainability and harmony with the local ecosystem, enhancing both the beauty and environmental health of the property while offering varied, immersive outdoor spaces for relaxation and connection with nature.
