The Arbor is founded on the ideals of biophilia, urban agriculture, and adaptability. Our building takes inspiration from the natural world in its structure and systems to support both plants and people. Urban agriculture and local plant species are purposefully integrated into the design, creating a sustainable source of local food production and bringing the benefits of plants to the interior. Our massing, structural, and circulation strategies emphasize a dynamic, iconic series of public spaces while providing an armature for a rotating set of private program uses. In this way, our building can respond to changing economic and cultural circumstances while preserving its core ethos.
